2nd Grade

Denise VanDegrift began teaching fourth grade at SHGS in 2017 and currently teaches 1st and 2nd with Mrs. Slaubaugh. Mrs. VanDegrift taught in Lucas-Luray and Russell districts for 18 years.  She holds a Bachelor Degree from Fort Hays State University and a Master Degree in Special Education from Fort Hays as well.  She and her husband, a contractor, make their home in Luray and have two children and two step-granddaughters.

Julie Slaubaugh started helping teach 1st and 2nd grades at SHGS in 2019.  Her and her husband just celebrated their 14th Wedding Anniversary. They have been blessed with 4 children. As a family they enjoy drag racing, football games, watching The Voice, Heartland, and riding their horses - Tiny and Snickers.
