Grace Mongue passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 96. She was born on April 29, 1920 in Rural Plainville to William and Anna (Havlas) Meyers. She was married to Levi E. Mongeau on April 27, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2004 after 56 years of marriage. She retired from the Rooks County Rural Hospital.
Beverly Jean (Bollig) Wilkerson passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at her home in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 76. She was born on October 10, 1940 in Hays, Kansas to the late Eugene and Irene (Meyers) Bollig. She graduated from Plainville High School with the Class of 1958, and on August 6, 1960 she was united in marriage to Larry Wilkerson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. They were blessed with four children, Larry, Jr., Billy, Sandra Kay, and Robert.
Darlene Mae (Hrabe) Eichman passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at her home near Plainville, Kansas at the age of 86. She was born on May 16, 1930 in the Twin Mound community of Rooks County, Kansas to the late Leo and Sophia (Mazanek) Hrabe. After attending Stockton High School in Stockton, Kansas, she began working as a telephone operator. On March 27, 1955 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Edmond “Slim” Eichman.
Marie Frances Beranek, 90, Hays, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Via Christi Village Long Term Care.
She was born May 30, 1926 in Bruno, Nebraska the daughter of Anton and Antonia (Culek) Joska. She graduated from Liberty High School in Madison, NE and also from secretarial school in Omaha, NE.
Jeanette Elizabeth (Skolout) Hartnett passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Holiday Resort Health and Rehab in Salina, Kansas at the age of 60. She was born on May 11, 1956 in Colby, Kansas to Frank and Mary Ann (Nelson) Skolout. She graduated from Colby High School with the Class of 1975, and was united in marriage to Glenn Hartnett on June 7, 1975 in Colby and eventually they made their home in Palco, Kansas. They were blessed with three children, Ashley, Luke, and Holly.
Nicholas “Nick” Dee Cox passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at his home in Hays, Kansas. He was born on November 5, 1980 in Plainville, Kansas to Randy Dee Cox and Ann Marie Vohs.
Nick grew up in Plainville. He was an Eagle Scout, volunteer firefighter, and loved welding and riding motorcycles. He worked for the City Water Department, the CO-OP in Elkhart, Kansas, and as Director of Maintenance for Quality Inn and Sleep Inn of Hays.
Patrick “Pat” Lee Balthazor passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas at the age of 64. He was born on December 23, 1952 in Plainville, Kansas to the late Philip Paul and Dorothy Ellen (Warren) Balthazor. He graduated from Palco High School in Palco, Kansas with the Class of 1970. He went on to graduate from Fort Hays State University in 1978 with a degree in Petroleum Geology. In 1978, he was united in marriage to Susie Reynolds in Hays, Kansas.
